Six bottlings of 57 to 61 years old single malt

Independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail has launched a very special collection of old whiskies some days ago.The collection is presented in a wooden box and focuses the years 1950 to 1955. One vintage single malt whisky from every production year is included. The Gordon & MacPhail’s Glen Grant Collection is available in the UK at special whisky retailers. We can’t say if and when other countries will be delivered as well.

High decorated Glen Grant Single Malt Whiskys

Among those Glen Grant Single Malt Whiskies that were released during the last years are two high decorated bottlings: The Rare Vintage Glen Grant 1954 was awarded double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017 and a gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2017. The Rare Vintage Glen Grant 1952 was Best Single Malt in the category 41 years and older in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.

Gordon & MacPhail: family-owned and worldwide wellknown

The independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail is based in Elgin. It was founded in 1895 and still family-owned. Four generations of Urquhart have made the company big and famous. They brought casks to distilleries all over Scotland to let them fill and stored them at warehouses owned by the company or at those of the distilleries. Being one of the leading whisky bottlers Gordon & MacPhail meanwhile export into more than 60 countries. Regarding the Glent Grant Distillery at River Spey, founded in 1840, Gordon & MacPhail maintains a close relationship so that probably a lot of old casks with Glen Grant whisky are waiting in the warehouses. They might be released as a vintage bottling like the Glen Grant 1962/2008, batched from Sherry casks, or a single cask release like the Glen Grant 1957/2001.
