The Taste
We understand flavour to be a complex sensory impression that arises when we consume food and drink. There are five taste qualities that are scientifically recognised. These are: sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami.
When we talk about flavour, we mean the many aromas that we perceive while smelling and drinking whisky.
