Benromach Exclusive Cask „German Selection by Schlumberger“ Vintage 2009

A special edition of the Benromach Distillery in the Speyside was announced these days: Benromach Exclusive Cask „German Selection by Schlumberger“ Vintage 2009 is the name of the single malt.

Only a fortnight ago we introduced you to the two Penderyn Single Malts that started this series: the “German Selection by Schlumberger” will present bottlings from single casks exclusively selected for the German market by distributor Schlumberger from the stock of its partner distilleries. After the Penderyn Ex-Tawny Port Single Cask and the Penderyn Ex-Bourbon Single Cask Vintage 2006 now a Benromach is launched. It is a nine year old whisky, distilled in 2009 and matured in a first fill Boubon cask with the number 121 until it was bottled this year. The edition is limited to 273 bottles and presents 60.7 % ABV cask strength.

Tastingnotes for the Benromach Exclusive Cask „German Selection by Schlumberger“ Vintage 2009

Aroma: rich floral notes, citrus and dark chocolate

Taste: smooth and creamy with much vanilla, orange peel, English toffee, spicy oak notes as well as the Benromach typical hint of peat

Finish: well balanced and long lasting with recurring vanilla, oak wood flavor and a hint of peat

Benromach Distillery was founded in 1898. Since 1993 the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail has been the owner which refurbished the distillery, closed before since 1983, and brought it back to the international markets.
