Torabhaig Distillery on Skye opens visitor center

The distillery offers tours and operates a shop and a café on site

Since January the Torabhaig Distillery has already been producing. Now the distillery also welcomes guests and opened its visitor center, shop and café. The distillery, owned by of Mossburn Distillers, expects many interested visitors who come to join a distillery tour, and so bookings ahead are recommended. As Anne O'Lone , Visitor Center Manager, emphasizes in a press release, each tour is limited to eight people.

Visiting the distillery

his press release also gives information on the price of the distillery tour. It is 10 pounds per person and includes the 45 minutes tour itself and a whisky tasting – although the Torabhaig Distillery doesn’t have any own whisky yet, indeed. Children under 12 are not allowed to enter the production rooms, but teens between 13 and 17 are free of charge when they accompany a paying adult on a tour.

Two on Skye, one on Raasay: three whisky distillery close together

Now visitors of Skye have the chance to enjoy a little distilleries trip: Talisker Distillery is situated in Carbost at the west coast of Skye, Torabhaig in the South at Teangue on the Peninsula Sleat. Next to the east coast of Skye lies Raasay, a small Island that can be reached by Ferry from Sconser. Here is the home of Raasay Distillery that started producing Whisky last year.
