Teeling unveils its first Dublin whiskey
Teeling Whiskey Distillery celebrates its third birthday this week and announces its first single Pot Still for August
The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is growing up! Ireland's leading whisky producer celebrates the third anniversary of its award-winning distillery. In June 2015, Teeling Whiskey opened its first new distillery in Dublin, Ireland in over 125 years. Extensive celebrations include a pop-up exhibition celebrating some of the local collaborations Teeling has been involved in over the years, and a birthday cocktail served for those taking part in the Teeling guided tours - which, by the way, are available in 10 different international languages. A special menu of handmade Teeling cocktails is also available at the "Bang Bang Bar" in the distillery during this time. This is supported by a larger summer series, which takes place from June to August and presents the best of independent Irish music, Dublin culture and Dublin food.
Results of hard work
Jack Teeling, founder and managing director of Teeling Whiskey, said: "The Teeling Distillery visitor centre provides a unique and unrivalled experience for visitors to Dublin and its success since opening in 2015 is something we are very proud of. The consistent positive feedback and reaction we receive from visitors justifies all the hard work we have put in." Teeling Whiskey currently employs almost 60 people in the distillery. During the celebrations, the distillery also announced that since opening three years ago, it has welcomed more than 350,000 guests to its visitor centre, sold 143,000 bottles of whiskey in its shop and generated almost 9 million euros in revenue for the Teeling Whiskey Company.
The first cask of Single Pot Still
With its third birthday, the historic and eagerly awaited release of the first distilled whiskey from the distillery is imminent. "With the first whiskey from our new distillery, which has been distilled in the capital for over 40 years, we are now at a very exciting and significant stage of our journey," continued Jack Teeling. After Teeling launched the fifth and final whiskey of its The Revival Commemorative Series in April 2018 (we reported), the first Single Pot Still from the Teeling Whiskey Distillery will be released as a celebratory release of just 250 bottles in August. Shortly after, in October, the new Teeling Single Pot Still will be commercially available.
