The Speyside distillery expands its global travel retail portfolio with a third expression

After the successful launch of two premium whiskies for the global travel market this year, the Hopkins Reserve without an age statement and the 10 year old single malt, the Speyburn distillery is now supplementing its exclusive travel retail range with a third bottling: Speyburn 16 years old.

Available from October

Stored in a traditional dunnage warehouse, the whisky has been matured for 16 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and has absorbed the natural elements of the Speyside region. It shows notes of creamy vanilla and juicy fruit, such as sweet pears and tropical pineapple, paired with white chocolate and honey, all wrapped together with a gentle spice. Bottled at 43% abv, the one-litre bottle will be available from October exclusively at the global travel market with an RRP of €72.00 / US $85.00.

Ideal platform

Speyburn's executives believe that the travel retail platform is the ideal place for Scotch single malt to reach anyone interested in whisky – from travelers just discovering single malts to whisky lovers looking for something special. "Together with the new Speyburn 16 year old, we can now offer travellers a complete range of expressions that cater to different palates and drinking occasions – with Speyside character at the heart of each of the three whiskies," said James Bateman, Global Travel Retail Director at Speyburn parent company International Beverage.

You don't always have to travel, because even without a valid ticket you can enjoy the bottlings of the Speyburn distillery, such as the spicy-fruity Speyburn Bradan Orach or the sweet-spicy and fruity Speyburn 15 year old.
