The first whisky of a new series

There is news from Lindores Abbey Distillery: In addition to the second bourbon batch from the series of "Casks of Lindores" bottlings, a new series was launched with the Friar John Cor Congregation Chapter I.

The written history of Scotch Whisky began in Lindores Abbey in 1494: with the recorded purchase of malt by Friar John Cor for the production of aqua vitae, the first official mention of the water of life was made. The black colour of the Friar John Cor Congregation Edition is said to be reminiscent of the monks' habit.

Chapter I was created from bourbon, Monbazillac (a French sweet wine), STR and sherry casks and bottled at cask strength of 60.2% vol. The limited edition can currently be found among other Lindores Abbey bottlings in the Whisky.de online shop.
