Highland Park Valkyrie to be released in May

Start of a new whisky trilogy focusing Nordic legends

A new Highland Park is in sight: Valkyrie is the name of the new release that will reach us end of May according to Beam Suntory. This will be the first edition of a Trilogy. The names and design will refer to Nordic mythology as we are used to from Highland Park Single Malt Whisky.

The design of this limited edition was created by Jim Lyngvild, a Danish author and designer. He got his inspiration for this work from illustrations on the famous Stora Hammars in Gotland and a stony pendant that was found in Swedish Uppland. They show impressive scenes of the Nordic mythology. As a result of this inspiration the Highland Park Valkyrie is decorated with illustrations of the valkyries that stood by Odin’s side with sword and shield.

The Highland Park Valkyrie will be released without age statement and an alcoholic content of 45,9% ABV. There is no information yet about the casks that were batched but the aroma of the single malt is described to show vanilla and ginger and as “spiciness and sweetness meets slight smokiness”.
