Highland Park The Light – second release of the Runes Series

Following The Dark which represents autumn and winter here comes The Light as a tribute to spring and summer

Highland Parks sends greetings from the Orkney Islands and once again it pays homage to the Viking times. As the first release of the Runes Series this second one focuses on the seasons to show their contrast. The Dark symbolizes autumn and winter with their quiet months, The Light stands for spring and summer when the Viking warriors come out of their shells again for cheerful celebrations and adventures.

The whisky that Highland Park chose for The Light was matured in American Oak for 17 years (it had been Sherry casks for The Dark) and bottled with 52.9 % ABV. This new release is also limited to 28.000 bottles as The Dark was. The colour of the whisky (which is natural colour) and the design of bottle und packaging of the both releases resemble the difference between darkness and light: The Highland Park The Light whisky is of a much brighter colour, so is its packaging and the light green bottle.

Official tasting notes of the Highland Park The Light:

Colour: light gold

Aromas: mouthfilling with caramelized pear, nutmeg, vanilla, cedar wood, oak and hints of peat smoke
