Highland Park Fire Edition 15 Years Old

Petra Milde |

With its Highland Park Fire Edition 15y the distillery that is situated on the Orkney Islands presents a thematic supplement to the Highland Park Ice Edition. Fire and ice are the elements that characterize the Nordic mythology. That’s why they are very welcome as a hook for the storytelling that Highland Park loves to surrounds its whisky releases with. Sometimes it’s the Nordic world of gods, sometimes mythological heroes and now it’s the fire from which the earth once was newly created after it had been destroyed in a sea of flames.

Limited to 28.000 bottles

The Highland Park Fire Edition 15 years was released last autumn but in Germany whisky fans had to wait until the Finest Spirits in Munich in early February where the kick off for Germany happened. The release is limited to 28.000 bottles worldwide. The Highland Park Fire edition 15 Years Old is bottled with 45.2% ABV. The single malt whisky is neither colored nor chill filtered.

15 years in refill port wine casks

While the whisky for the Highland Park Ice Edition was matured for 17 years in first fill Bourbon casks the Highland Park Fire Edition was bottled from whisky that was lying in refill port wine casks for 15 years. Those casks shaped its fruity and kind of berry-like aromatic character. The Highland Park Fire Edition was filled into fire-red bottles that are sold together with a black wooden frame. Its shape resembles flaming tongues.
