Traditional production, craft presentation and outstanding quality - it's hard not to like Springbank whiskies. Complex, dense and ever-changing, the nose is truly a chameleon. Gentle peatiness, crisp apples and bitter herbs harmonize with sweet malt, old leather and mineral-earthy notes. Tasting strong, aromatic and spirit-driven (few rough edges), this young Campbeltown malt combines mild fruitiness, well-integrated smoke and wee hints of salt with a robust, substantial and chocolaty finish. It's simply one of the best 10-year-old Single Malts from Scotland!

Nosing: Zitrone Süße Früchte Rauch Malz Salz Eiche
Very interesting nose, just a touch of peat smoke and lemon oil, maybe a bit of pineapple. Maltiness and some marine saltiness like I would normally associate with Old Pulteney. Some light oakiness in the background.

Taste: Zitrone Süße Pfeffer Gewürze
Initially sweet. Lemon citrus flavour, transitions into slight sourness and spiciness/pepper. Flavour intensifies over time and coats the mouth.

Finish: Pfeffer Gewürze Eiche
Medium length with oakiness and pepper. Flavour noticably rises up the sinuses without water.

Comment:
This is the first Springbank I've tried, though I'd always heard good things. The reputation is well deserved. You get a really good experience for the money. The strength is well judged and I like it neat personally. The peating is so subtle that you get it on the nose and hardly at all in the rest of the presentation. Cracking stuff.
