In the spirit of Compass Box's Campaign for Scotch Whisky Transparency comes Enlightenment. This blended malt is made up of 48.2% bright, waxy, apple-y Clynelish (first fill American oak barrel), 36.7% fruity, hebal Glentauchers (first fill American oak barrel), 10.8% perfumed, bright Balblair (first fill American oak barrel) and 4.3% muscular weighty Mortlach (rejuvenated American oak barrel). EU law currently stops them letting us all know how old these constituent parts are, but as Compass Box say, this is a whisky "with which to ponder the world of Scotch not only as it is but also as it could be".
