Aroma: sweet Sherry Rauch Salz Lagerfeuer

Taste: Sherry Früchte Dunkle Schokolade Lagerfeuer Rauch Seetang

Finish: Rauch Lagerfeuer Salz Gewürze

Comment: Not too far away from the Uigeadail.
Nosing:
An engaging bouquet with initially tempting, exotic notes. Then come allusions to smoked apricots in syrup, salt and pepper and some soft, creamy vanilla tones gradually to a smoky, herbal spicy aroma symphony with wood smoke, tar, menthol and fennel. A bit of water promotes volatile overtones as pine resin, coriander, licorice and a peculiar soapy impact revealed
Taste:
The soft, juicy texture spreads smoothly on the palate. In the emergence of solid, robust nuances manifested unmistakable character of Ardbeg: Teerseife, anise, peppermint, espresso, sweet malted barley and a persistent, aromatic smokiness
Finish:
The long finale reveals freshness, embodied by menthol notes and beats with allspice, cloves and bitter almonds at the same time a spicy string at. At the conclusion emerges a hint of sweet vanilla essence.

Surprising, quite young, but great richness.

The nose is immediately met by a strong, mineral, white pepper smoke and yes, the tar soap is there.
However, there also is a strong DMS (Di-Methyl-Sulfide), i.e. "baby diaper" aroma that clearly illustrates how young the spirit is. Quite a sharp alcohol, too, along with celery and muted yellow fruit.

The front-palate is the best I have tasted in an Adbeg in a long time - oily and richly smoked. Unfortunately, the experience is clipped by a pronounced, young fusel-y/Iso-Amyl-alcohol heat and a spicy, drying finish.

Excellent length on the finish with more bonfire and Sherry fruit appearing.

It's not exactly a 2003 Uigeadail, and quite spirity like most new Ardbegs.

Split personality - great richness and intensity, but very young and lively.
