Until 2017 Ardbeg Fans could only buy the 3 standard bottlings. Now, there's a new whisky character of the distillery to discover: An Oa (an:oh) is inspired by the lonely area Islay and is sweeter and more aromatic than his brother TEN.

Nosing: Peat Smoke Apple Black Currant Cinnamon

      Taste: Peat Smoke Grass Honey

Finish: Peat Smoke Leather Oak and Salt as a distant residual

Comment: An Oa is an adequate demonstration of a peated whisky. There are some traces of fruit and sweetness on the nose and finish, but this is not a complex whisky. If one is interested in easing into the peated realm, Ardbeg An Oa would serve as a fine introduction.
