Benromach 10 Years
The Benromach distillery was acquired by the Independent Bottler Gordon & MacPhail and started production again. The new 10 years old is produced on the occasion of the 10th birthday of the distillery. In contrast to most Speyside distilleries, the production uses very light smoky Malt. It uses 80% Bourbon cask whisky and 20% sherry cask whisky.

One of the most unpleasant of my drams. In my personal opinion it is very flat in taste, very bitter, the smoke is noticeable only with first sip. Sorry for all Benromach fans but this is along with Glenmorangie 10 my worst dram of whisky I had.

I'm pretty impressed. Wonderful complex between oakiness, orange and peat. It is beyond my expectation. Great one with smoke and orange. Well balanced one.
