Nosing: Fruit, Oak, Vanilla, Raisin
Taste:
Vanilla, Raisin, ripe fruit, very light peat and smoke
Finish:
Medium
Comment:
Well balanced scotch. I drank my first bottle in no time. Easy to sip. Not sure why it's not rated higher. I guess it's just my own tastes, but it's one of the better Malt Blends that I've enjoyed.

Nosing: Older Fruity, Simple, Vanilla, Sultanas
Taste: Smooth at first, spreads and balances well along the mouth, faint smokiness arrives prior to finish.
Finish: Bitterness (however it fades away), Vanilla
Comment: Considering this is a first time review and having limited experience, I have enjoyed better Scotch Whisky. The nosing is firm with Sultanas and Fruity balance, the taste of smokiness lingers, the finish will leave your throat slightly spiced and bitter, however, the spread and balance is well accomplished. Not exactly the best, however, not the absolute worst.
Thank you kindly for considering this tasting.

Nosing: Alcohol smell dominates, plums and raisins, almost a sherry-esq smell, although I doubt this stuff has ever seen a sherry cask.... the slightest hint of vanilla,
Taste: Smoother than the nose would indicate, taste is "chemically sweet" if that makes any sense..... hard to pick flavors out, almost a lighter mix of dark fruits, vanilla and sherry, but VERY muted and mixed together. Not a terrible dram, in its price range, and one that is sufficiently simple and mild. I will keep a bottle of this for my bourbon friends who wish to try scotch, as most do not have my love of the smoke, and this dewars has no smoke that I can detect.
Finish: short to medium finish, while not unpleasant, not special either..... again, think of a good whisky that has been watered down far too much, -or- a cheap whisky that is actually engineered to taste better than most cheap whisky.
Comment: Its worth $30 to see if you like it, and I will keep a bottle around, as I find this better than most anything else in the price range (at least in the US). Not a world beater, not something to write home about, but a good solid dram that is fairly representative of the style.
