Bruichladdich 3 Years X4+3
A new experiment of the Bruichladdich distillery. Only Scottish barley was used and the malt was distilled four times. Usually the whisky is distilled only twice and sometimes trice. Afterwards the spirit was matured in Bourbon barrels for three years.
Nose: Some alcohol, reminds a bit of fruit schnapps, malt and light fruits
Taste: Soft, sweet and some caramel and oak
Finish: Rather short with sweetness and some bitter notes
It would be very interesting to taste with 7-10 years.
