Nosing: and in time
Taste:
with the addition of water
Finish: distant
Comment: To address the obvious expectation, smoke is present but not overwhelming on the nose. There is an equal measure of sour citrus influence for every wisp of peat. Barley sugar sweetness bridges the gap between the sour and the umami smoke influence of The Wee Beastie. I venture to say that the longer this whisky airs out in the glass (>1 hour for me), the sweeter its scents lean.
Both peat and bonfire smoke show up more prominently on the palate, but this whisky's arrival is nonetheless just a touch flat. But just when one might be ready to accept disappointment, a flash of fruit and spice appear to provide a reinvigorated finish.
Water dampens this whisky's scent profile without revealing much new on the nose. However, a lingering dark chocolate note is added on the palate, and through the finish, with a splash of water.
The Wee Beastie is a complete, three-phase whisky - nose, palate and finish all contributing in their own way rather than just parroting one another.

Comment:
An intensive whisky with peat flavor. But I think it is not the one with too much peat. The combination of herbs like coriander, pepper, and of course pepper, gives you a great time to accomplish to an Islay whisky which one has strong icon.
