Ardlussa was closed in 1924 and demolished in 1927.
The distillery had a metal mash tun 15 feet in diameter and 6 feet deep, 6 washbacks each with a capacity of 8,200 gallons, a wash still with 18,000 gallons and a spirit still with 3560 gallons. One of the stills was heated by steam and the other by fire.
There were 2 large warehouses, which together had room for 18,000 barrels.
The output in 1885 was 118,000 gallons.
