St. Kilian 5 Years - 2017 Winter Edition Merry Christmas
A single malt, matured in former herbal liqueur barrels, is an absolute novelty even for Mario Rudolf. "The wintry spice aromas are perfect for our Christmas Edition,” says the Master Distiller happily. For this five-year-old Winter Edition, Rudolf put together three herbal liqueur casks, one of which was filled with mild and two with "heavily peated" (54 ppm) New Make. The single malt, bottled at 53.5% vol. and, as always at St. Kilian Distillers, is neither colored nor chill-filtered, impresses with full-bodied aromas of gingerbread and plum compote with wintry spices, wrapped in warming peat smoke.
