Glenmorangie has the tallest stills in Scotland. Therefore the Whiskies have an especially soft taste. The Quinta Ruban, Gaelic for ruby, belongs to the Extra Matured Range of the distillery. The Single Malt matures for ten years in Bourbon casks. Then it is finished in Port Wine casks.

Nosing:
Dark mint chocolate, tangerines and Seville oranges mingle with sandalwood and walnut before giving way to a spicy finish of pepper and nutmeg.
Taste:
Mint chocolate and walnuts envelop the palate like velvet, laying the foundations for rose, Turkish delight and sweet Seville oranges.
Finish:
Long lasting silky aftertaste leaving dark chocolate mints and traces of orange.

Comment: Wonderful, chocolate raisins!!
Nosing: Sherry Berries Grape Pear Sweet Hazelnut

Taste: Very thick, syrup-like, Orange Honey Chili Spices Cinnamon

Finish: medium-long Oil Clove Oak

Comment: Incredible aroma, a top 5 of mine so far in my scotch adventures (>50 tasted).

Nosing: you can feel the porto cask influence very strongly

Taste: dry fruits, sweat but not to sweat - more dry, delicate but with character

Finish: medium, sweat and nice

Comment: This one is perfect for a price. Only two additional years in porto casks and it makes so much difference from Original! The only minus of this whisky for me is that you can really feel 46 volts in your throat - good to add few spoons of water.
