All tasting notes
18. May 2017
Nosing:
Sweet tropical fruits and lemon peel. Some background pepper and general oakiness.
Taste:
Incredibly intense fruity arrival. Sweet tropical fruits and grapefruit. Bags of oak influence.
Finish:
Long with sappy oak. Eventually drying and malty with some background pepper.
Comment:
I've had a previous version of this and from what I remember I enjoyed it very much. This is no different. The nose is fruity and inviting. On the palate it just explodes, its anything but subtle, and it can definitely take a good whack of water (although I think its really great at about 45-50% abv or so). Its just bordering on being too oaky, but the fruitiness of the spirit really holds its own and doesn't get drowned out. For the money its a cracker, wish they'd put an age statement on it though, even if it is quite young.
