Taste: Caramel, spices, dryness, lemon peel

Finish: short, nice and dry, spicy, mouthwatering

Comment: I found this similar to some tastings of Glenfiddich I had some years ago. Not the stuff on the market now.

Raisin Honey Sweet Oak Alcohol
Spices Oak Oil Heather Nuts
At full strength, heady, nose prickle, pear drops and tightly integrated heather, resin and sweet honey-nut notes. Enticing. Intriguing. With a little water, still harmonious but less pronounced, allowing some malt-cereal, soft, spicy wood, moorland and faint traces of wood-smoke to appear.
Palate Well balanced, smooth mouthfeel; short punch, sweet and fresh, then a pronounced drying effect. Enjoyable at any time, with little or no water

I never quite understood why Cardhu is so popular in Spain. Maybe it's the warm climate that goes well together with the light and fruity style of this Single Malt? On the nose, you get juniper berries, sticky honey sweetness and hints of almonds - that's it. Not unpleasant, but fairly simple. The taste is a plain continuation of the aroma with some mild spices, fresh spearmint and dark chocolate in the second row. Be careful with water, as this malt disintegrates quickly. With its swift and undemanding finish, Cardhu 12 is an easy sipper for long summer evenings.

Taste: Sweet Nuts Oak Alcohol

Finish: Moderate

Comment: A very sweet dram. Lightly roasted nuts, drizzled in honey with a very slight spice towards the finish. Light and oaky, shrouded in wild flowers.
