Balvenie 14 Years Caribbean Cask
Malt Master David Stewart filled American oak casks with special rum. When the casks fully gained the aroma of rum, he switched the content with the 14 year old Balvenie. Scottish Whisky meets Caribbean soulfulness. Rich and sweet, with a fruity character.

Finish: dry

Comment: This whisky is quite complex and aromatic, but it could be better. The palate is dry and even if you add water, it is nevertheless very intense for 43%, while the aftertaste is very short with only oak and spices. The nose is much more complex than a palate. I have tried the whisky called Teeling Small Batch, which was also matured in the ex-rum casks, by the way, and that one was far more complex, more pleasant on a mouth, and more aromatic than this one.
