Kavalan released a series of gift boxes. The covers of those show exotic, Taiwanese animal species, which are symbolizing hope and prosperity. This gift box is decorated with a mikado pheasant. The term Kavalan leads back to the Taiwanese province Yilan. The distillery was founded in 2006 and is located near the capital Taipeh. The entry Malt of Kavalan matured in six different cask types. The design of the bottles mimics the skyscraper Taipei 101 in the capital. Until 2007, it was the highest building in the world. This is a gift package with small 0,05cl bottles of Kavalan Classic and Kavalan Distillery Select.

Comment: Very good malt in deed. Very surprising a young aged malt can bring such a complicated yet fulfilling mouth feel. Can be considered as an outstanding Speyside malt.
