Balcones Texas Single Malt is one of the only Single Malts from the USA. In comparison to Scotland, there are light regulations for Single Malts. The Whisky is allowed to mature shorter than three years and can be made of different kinds of Grain. Additionally, the production does not mainly use Pot Stills but Column Stills. But Balcones intentionally decided to use Pot Stills from the manufacturer Forsyths.
