Nosing:
The nose is delicatewith light tropical fruit but particularly pineapple and pear. It has a vanilla fudge sweetness to it. I was initially a little disappointed with its lack of punchiness but it grows on you.
Taste:
Bam!, just when you thought the nose had told you everything you get sucker punched by this one. Super intense fresh tropical fruits transitioning into slightly resinous oak. The mouth feel is buttery and viscous.
Finish:
Medium length with vanilla oakiness. Just a touch of white pepper.
Comment:
I bought this on a whim at the supermarket, and I have to say I'm not disappointed. Initially I wasn't very taken with the nose, and I still think its the weaker aspect of this bottle. On the palate though its an absolute riot and very enjoyable. Its at its best at around 50% abv. I'd say so not too much water needed for this one. Well worth looking out for.
