Nosing:
Sherry and dried fruit, Raisin and nuts. A good intense nose.
Taste:
Intense slightly sweet arrival. Bags and bags of raisin and sultana. Walnuts, transitions into black coffee
Finish:
Long and dry, continued black coffee and oak spiciness.
Comment:
This is a really nice expression of Glengoyne. It has all the intensity you would expect of a cask strength release, but the mix of casks has really reigned in the youthfulness. It definitely needs a good drop of water to bring it under control, and even then it isn't a subtle experience. Good quality at a fair price though.
