Nosing: Erdbeere Kirsche Zitrus
Light and fresh, red fruit. Strawberry, cherries and something citric, not quite pineapple.

Taste: Kirsche Schokolade Grapefruit
Sweet arrival. Up front, bright fruit, cherries and milk chocolate, progresses towards pink grapefruit as sourness comes forward.

Finish: Kaffee Eiche
Medium to long, drying. Oak tang, and coffee aftertaste.

Comment:
I picked this up as I've been exploring different versions of Arran recently. This one is definitely something quite different from their regular releases, but not necessarily in a bad way. The cask influence here is very noticable, the sweet and sour nature of this is going to make it something which will appeal more towards experienced whisky drinkers, and might put off those who aren't in to that sort of thing. The bottling strength is to be applauded, but it definitely needs a good teaspoon of water to calm it down for it to show at its best.

Comment: very hot. More time in a barrel would really help this whisky. The strongest alcoholic taste ruins this whisky completely.

Nosing: Cherry Chocolate Berries honestly not the most complex of noses. it has a dryness on the nose though. Adding water it's so, so much nicer, Strawberry rose hips, Herbs soft spices of Cinnamon like notes. maybe cardamom.

Taste: Berries Cherry Strawberry Sweet Oak Red Currant with water added there is a richer mouthfeel.

Finish: Melon Cherry Cinnamon

Comment: You need to add water and time to this one. I tried neat and almost thought I got ripped off. There was just nothing going on on the nose, the taste was a bit of a joke. But cutting down some of the hotness really brings out what this has to offer. Would be nice if there was an age statement, feels like it needs more time, but with water it's good. More time could've made it incredible though.
