Nosing:
Taste: Initially and followed by intense and
Finish: long and mouthwatering and
Comment: Not nearly as complex as the Distillers Edition (D.E.), but still enjoyable. While talisker is known for their "chilli catch", the palate reminded me A LOT of cinnimon candies (kind of the same thing, I guess). As the bottle settled down after a few months, the chilli/cinnamon became increasingly replaced by the berries and fruit of the port, especially in the nose.
To me, this seemed to be the least smoky talisker I've had (although still plenty of smoke)...maybe the port covered it up. If you find that the D.E. has a little too much ham, leather and smoke, this fruity, sweet and spicy alternative might be for you!
