Hunter Laing

History

Hunter Laing is a young and at the same time old company that works as an independent bottler and whisky blender. The Glasgow-based company was founded by Stewart Laing, who until then had managed the independent bottler Douglas Laing for over 40 years together with his brother Fred. In 2013 the company was split: Fred and his daughter took over Douglas Laing & Co, while Stewart founded Hunter Laing.

Stewart's sons Andrew and Scott support him in managing the company. They too have a background on the whisky industry. Before Hunter Laing they worked as directors for the independent bottler Edition Spirits Ltd.

Range

Old Malt Cask

Once a month the warehouses of Hunter Laing are searched for fully matured casks. The single casks are bottled unchillfiltered and with at least 50% abv. There are tasting notes for the customers on each bottle.

Old and Rare

Rare malts are bottled in this series. They are delivered in a precious wooden box. Of course unchillfiltered and naturally coloured.

Douglas of Drumlanrig

These single casks are bottled at a pleasant drinking strength of 46%, in rare cases also at cask strength. The series is supposed to commemorate the family seat Drumlanrig Castle and is signed by the duke himself.
