This Jura is blended with half of non-smoky and half of smoky Jura Malt. But it still remains a Single Malt, because the entire whisky is produced by Jura.
Based on taste alone, it's assumed to be an Islay Malt.
Six more years of maturation than the standard bottling lend a lot more smoothness and complexity to this single malt. With the manifold aromas of salt and earth you can experience a complete circle of the year on Jura.
Turas-Mara is the Gaelic word for a long trip. In the 19th century, many inhabitants left the Isle of Jura. This bottling is dedicated to all those who carried Jura on their long journeys in your heart.
In 2018 the Jura distillery completely overhauled its standard range and 5 standard bottlings were created in a new design. The 'new' 10 year old matured in American white oak Bourbon casks and was then finished in Oloroso Sherry casks.
