Hellyers Road Original Roaring Forty

Hellyers Road Original Roaring Forty was named after the winds (Roaring 40s) that blow across Tasmania.
In 1825, Henry Hellyer was one of the first European explorers to set foot on the rugged north-west of Tasmania. As chief surveyor, he had only a herd of oxen and the simplest tools to build a dirt road in the wilderness. Almost 200 years later, this road leads to the Hellyers Road Distillery.
