Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old Moine Rum Finish 56.1% vol 242 bottles only
In 2014, while re-filling our 'Moine' or peated spirit into newly arrived American white oak bourbon casks from Kelvin Cooperage Bardstown, Kentucky our Distillery Manager, discovered something unusual. Amongst the 1,000 ‘quercus alba’ barrels were two that had formerly housed Caribbean Rum and not bourbon as per the documentation, a nice surprise!
Colour: Lemony gold.
Nose: A rich rum influence with light tropical fruit, banana, pineapple, coconut and vanilla, balanced with the intense influence of bonfire and sea breeze.
Palate: Oily, rich and silky with rounded creamy coconut, sweet rich tropical fruit, walnuts, salted caramel, subtle oak, smoke and spice.
Finish: Lingering smoke with a hint of sweet…
