Aberlour 12 Years Double Cask
First this single malt whisky matured in normal oak casks and was then finished in special selected sherry casks. By doing that Aberlour keeps its significant fruitiness.

Comment: Beautifully presented and glorious depth of colour in the bottle, delicate top notes in the Nosing of cherry and caramel, delve deeper for the heather and fruit, and to the base which is definitely sherry and oak. Tasting - Fruit and oil with a dark chocolate note and then vanilla comes through, seems to evaporate within the mouth, smoky finish with a hint of oil and a lot of smoky pepper notes that fade to leave a fading creaminess. Very nice!
