Pulteney 12 Years

This Malt was forgotten for a long time. Since the turn of the millennium, this Whisky is revived as the most northern on the Scottish Land. His aroma is fruity and dry, his taste oily and strong with a slight sea breeze.

Nosing: American 43%abv. Karamell Tropische Früchte Zitronenschale Pfirsich Mandeln

Taste: Maritime Noten Salz Karamell Banane Ananas Zitrone Orange very funky

Finish: Orange Eiche Öl

Comment:In the same family I've always felt as Oban and Clynelish, but a bit fruitier I reckon now that I'm sitting down with it. I've always like these malts as they stand out on their own and aren't trying to emulate anything else. Definitely one of those whisky's that evolve as you work your way through the bottle, as I remember pouring the first glass and get MAJOR mineral notes, a lot more Jod than I'm getting now.

Nosing: strong honey

Taste: complex and oily. Quite bitter arrival but then the taste is salty, maritime, a bit spicy and oaky.

Finish: Develop and stay for a long time. Is complex and pleasant. What stay on a tangue remind me a nice, strong bear aftertaste.

Comment: It is quite unique whisky. Worthy to call it a maritime malt. But still not one of my favourite. Nice and complex but not for someone who like peat or strong taste drams.

Comment:
The first impression with this dram was that Wick was very similar to Hokkaido Yubetsu city . This is the most Apple flavor dram for me
