Comment: The nosing is quite unique as you feel like you're sniffing an oak out in the damp woods, but similarly, you are having burned oak smoke hit your face. The scent of dried fruits also follows, things like raisins and dates and plums. Once in the mouth, I feel it balances well left-to-right with the fine oakiness and the unique fruits, some bonfire smoke following with hints of vanilla escaping. The finish, although oily, is followed by the chilli and spice feeling - not over powering but exciting.

Nosing: and a vague that is intertwined with a far more noticeable
Taste:
Finish: , slightest hint of raw (as opposed to toasted)
A noticeable dryness in the finish, but not bitter or resulting from overpowering
Comment: A complex bourbon. Not just oak & vanilla, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked offers fruit influences on the nose, and a subtle sweetness throughout the dram.
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked lacks all traces of bitterness which can be so evident in even high-quality bourbons. Round, soft, and even the cliched "smooth" are appropriate descriptions of this 'edgeless' whiskey.
To quote the website's Master Taster: "One of my absolute favorites."
