Nosing:
Very tight nose, some fruitiness and herbal notes a little vanilla if you let it sit a while. There's an odd oily/spirit sort of smell that I can't put my finger on, very odd.
Taste:
Balanced arrival, flavour intensifies over time. Predominantly citrus flavours, particularly limes. Some spiciness develops but remains relatively restrained. Remains pleasantly sour throughout other than a short hit of sweetness at the start.
Finish:
Medium length, some oak spiciness showing through transitions towards black pepper.
Comment:
This is an interesting whisky, but not one I think I love. The nose is very odd, that spirit smell is almost but not quite like methylated spirits. What the nose lacks though, the palate makes up for with some well developed flavours. The finish is pretty satisfactory. As far as price goes, its ok, but for a premiumish 12 year old I'm not a fan of that nose at all.

Nosing: light fruitiness in the background
Taste: very clean
Finish: medium-ish but not very bitey, not much oakiness. It's fresh.
Comment: this is a welcome change of pace, if variety is your thing. Dewar's single malts have all been pretty good and stand on their own, this one is no exception. It will not sweep you off your feet if you're accustomed to 18+ year old whisky, but for what you pay and the type of whisky it is, it is probably the best floral, clean malt i've had.
