Glen Grant 10 Years
The 10 year old Glen Grant is the standard bottling of the distillery and fully matured in Bourbon casks. With only 25 years James Grant inherited the Whisky distillery Grant in Rothes from his uncle. James, also called Major, was innovative. Glen Grant was the first distillery with electrical light and James himself was one of the first car owners in the Scottish Highlands.

Comment: An excellent entry-level whisky with very pleasant and non-challenging characteristics. A classic Speyside flavour profile - although the taste is more of ex-bourbon barrel rather than the sherry cask characteristic of the region, however the quality of the spirit is what shines through in this expression. The taste is refined and elegant which may be thanks to the slender purifying stills of the Glen Grant Distillery, in any case I would recommend this dram to anyone new to Scotch or wants a pure easy sipping Speyside - 88/100.
