'Dare to be different' is what they aim for at Teeling, and in that they have succeeded. Using casks from Cooley distillery, they give their Single Malt a craft presentation which is unusual for Irish whiskey. On the nose, grainy and floral notes combine with lemon oil, honeydew melon and a touch of ginger. The palate features green apples, shortbread and aniseed, followed by white pepper, sour citrus fruits and herbaceous bitterness. Hints of vanilla, oak spices and lingering freshness remain in the medium finish. A malt with character despite its young age.
