All tasting notes
Medium to intense. Fruity and sweet. Pear and red apple. Some underlying spice showing through, cinnamon and a light pepper note. There's something about it which reminds me of the smell of anasthetic gas (might just be a bit of excess alcohol)
Taste:
Sweet, more malt and savoury notes on the palate than the nose suggests. Quite a lot of wood spice. Dark caramel/dark chocolate notes. Sweet fruitiness.
Finish:
Dried pineapple. Residual spiciness - clove, cinnamon, black pepper
Comment:
Initially when opening this bottle I wasn't a big fan. I actually think that being open for a few weeks has significantly improved it. The nose has a profile I might have expected from something like young Glenfiddich. However, by contrast, the palate and finish really show some gutsy intensity which you'd never get from that. There's bags and bags of spiciness which is well balanced by the still present fruit sweetness. Definitely one which has been winning me over during the time I've had it open.
