Pulteney 12 Years

This Malt was forgotten for a long time. Since the turn of the millennium, this Whisky is revived as the most northern on the Scottish Land. His aroma is fruity and dry, his taste oily and strong with a slight sea breeze.

As coastal malt from the most northerly end of the Scottish mainland, Old Pulteney 12 has a distinctive marine quality to it. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, the nose is quite sophisticated and complex: There are floral and fruity notes, even tropical fruits, and a touch of salt and sea air. The taste is sweet and sour with crisp apples, dried fruits and nuts. A rather unpleasant and intense dryness appears towards the development, as the oak is coming through. The finish is moderate, wood bitter and slightly salty. Definitely a demanding and complex Single Malt!
