Islay Barley uses only regional barley varieties. Due to the Bourbon barrel maturation and the high alcohol content, the whisky gains a strong fruity character.

The so-called Bere-Barley, from which this whisky was made, is one of the oldest crops in Scotland. Compared to the modern varieties, the yield is only half as high. The whisky made from it is therefore particularly unique.
