Havent tried bourbon in 10 years,so thought I'd get a couple of bottles that get very good reviews!If anyone has tried these two,would love your feedback.Cant seem to get Buffalo Trace 45% abv anywhere,only 40%???Looking forward to some sippin this evening!
@Ian_Crombie In the UK, anyway, they seem to only do 40% now
@Ian_Crombie Wild Turkey 101 is decent. Avoid the Wild Turkey 81 as it is too low ABV. Eagle rare I have never tried as it is not available in Sweden but it is one that I would like to try.
I tasted the Buffalo Trace 45% ABV one year ago and it was nice, a lot of vanilla though. I would avoid the 40%.
@bedlamborn Eagle Rare 10 was £36,rather pricy fof a bourbon,but very good.Would love to try Buffalo Trace 45%abv,but not available in UK.May try Makers Mark as next bourbon.If you are after an Islay single malt,but not your typical peat monster,I hugely advise Bunnahabhain 12,its rich full bodied and slightly nutty,just how I like my women!!!
@Ian_Crombie £36 pricey for 10-year-old small batch bourbon? It's seriously good for the price in my opinion!
@Ian_Crombie I have to agree with @James_Jackson . 36 pounds is a good price for the eagle rare 10.
For the Makers Mark I quite like that one s an easy drinking bourbon.
@Ian_Crombie
Bottled-in-bond bourbon has long been the standard of excellence — at least four years old, exactly 100 proof — but Wild Turkey does one point in proof better and tacks on several years of age. In fact, the “101” is so iconic that no other brand would dare mimic it. That number is now off limits.
@James_Jackson Pricing is quite fair for the 10-year aged bottle but what's the ABV?
@Ian_Crombie
I've had both. People rave about Wild Turkey 101 as a great budget bourbon, but I've never been particularly impressed. It just tastes kind of grainy and young. Eagle rare 10 is pretty good, and the age brings nice sweetness with support oak. If you can get Eagle Rare, I'd pick that over Wild Turkey 101. Also, I recommend Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon. It's very good, pretty affordable, and very easy to find.
I've provided links to all 3 of my reviews for your reference. I hope it helps. Cheers!

Average price for ER10 is around $40 retail, but many online retailers sell Eagle Rare 10 for upwards of $80.
Closer to $25 for Wild Turkey 101, with online much closer to MSRP.

So I drank Jim, Wild Turkey, and Buffalo Trace, each at 40.5% ABV. A lot of the products with the Jim Beam name are, in my opinion, merely mediocre.
