    Hello,

For those of you have tried this fine spirit, I was wondering if you would describe it as a "Sherry Bomb" or is it "Sherry Influenced" like the Belvinie Double Wood 12 years?

    Thank you

Thr Macallan double wood uses 100% sherry casks for the full maturation, but a mix of different wood species (American and European Oak). So I would say it still qualifies as a "sherry bomb". Balvenie is just finished in sherry cask.

Well, I picked up a bottle of Macallan Double Cask 12.  I am actually sipping my first dram as I write this.  It is lovely!  It's been a while since I had the 12 years Sherry Cask Macallan, but from what I remember, the Double Cask is more similar to the Balvenie Double Wood than the Sherry Cask Macallan.  As Horst would say ... I like it!
