@bedlamborn As a Bourbon drinker, Glenmorangie The Original is definitely easy drinking. Like you said, nothing bad, but nothing special. I think next time I pick up a Glenmorangie it would be one of the more intense ones.
EDIT: That said, I would likely recommend this to a newbie to Scotch/Whiskey.
@ABlueQuaker
I would also recommend it to a newbie
@ABlueQuaker
if you're looking for more intense flavors, @bedlamborn and I both love anything from Edradour!
@kroman I'll keep that in mind next time I'm looking for a Scotch. I think the next bottle I'll be getting in 2-3 weeks will be a higher shelf bourbon. I think the sweet-spot for price in Australia before you start hitting diminishing returns in terms of price vs. quality is about 100AUD. So I'd be looking at Booker's Bourbon or something along those lines.
@ABlueQuaker
If you're looking for a higher-end bourbon, you can't beat Col E H Taylor Single Barrel. Fantastic liquid from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. I don't know if it's available "down under", but if there was one bourbon that would always be on my shelf, this is it!
@kroman I'll have a look around and see if any stores stock it near me.
