The whisky was matured in Oloroso sherry butts

"Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" is the Christmas greeting from Wolfburn Distillery in the form of the release of this year's Christmas Edition. It is already available in the Whisky.de online shop - as long as the limited stocks last.

For the 2024 Christmas bottling, the Wolfburn Distillery selected three Oloroso sherry butts that had been filled in 2014. This 10-year-old whisky is available as 0.7 litre and 0.35 litre bottles for the first time, with 1,660 bottles bottled in total. The Wolfburn "Merry Christmas & and a Happy New Year" has 46% alcohol by volume to offer and was bottled un-chill filtered an in natural colour .

Christmas-themed labels adorn the Wolfburn Christmas Edition 2024, with small variations chosen for the large and small bottles.

Producer's tasting notes for the Wolfburn Christmas Edition 2024

ON THE NOSE – On the nose, soft sherry sweetness melds with figs and raisins. There’s a lovely hint of vanilla and oak present too.

ON THE PALATE – The depth of flavour is tremendous. Bold chocolate and dark fruit flavours abound, with overtones of caramel and vanilla, all accompanied by gentle hints of nutmeg and oak smoke.

FINISH – Silky tannins make for a beautifully textured finish; there’s a residual sweetness with dried fruit and caramel flavours lingering to the very end.

In future, whiskies from the Core Range will also be available in small bottles

The same press release with which Wolfburn importer Alba Import presented the Christmas edition also announced the expansion of the Wolfburn Core range (Northland, Aurora and Morven) to include 0.35 litre bottles.
