The Gin
In addition to Malfy Gin Originale, the Italian Gin is produced in four other varieties: con Arancia, con Limone, con Amarena and Malfy Gin Rosa.
The botanicals used are hand-picked juniper, Italian lemons, Sicilian pink grapefruit and Sicilian blood oranges.
Malfy Gin is distilled in a vacuum process. This involves lowering the temperature to better preserve the freshness and flavour of the botanicals used.
The History
The plant where Torino Distillati is located was built as early as 1906 in Moncalieri. The Piedmontese municipality, located in the metropolitan area of Turin, was known for the production of high-quality Liqueurs. The Fratelli Ferrero di Riccardo family, who founded the business at the time, were also in the Wine and Vermouth business.
In the 1960s, the plant was taken over by the Canadian spirits group Seagram. Carlo Vergnano, who was technical and operational director at Seagram Italia at the time, finally bought the plant in 1992 and used it to found the family business Torino Distillati, which he has run ever since with his wife and daughter.
