The Gin
Panarea Gin pays homage to the Sicilian roots of the Inga family and is named after the island of the same name in the Tyrhenian Sea. It has been produced since 2016 and differs significantly from the classic London Dry Gins with its 'Mediterranean' aroma. The use of old distillation techniques and the selection of high-quality botanicals such as juniper, coriander and myrtle from Panarea and Sicilian citrus fruits play a decisive role.
Lemon distillate is added to the Panarea Island Gin, which makes it reminiscent of the flavours and aromas of the Sicilian island. Panarea Sunset Gin contains infusions of lemon, orange and grapefruit, as well as basil. The sunset on Sicily inspired the Inga brothers Federico and Lorenzo in the development of this Gin.
The History
The distillery history of the Inga family goes back to 1832. Already at that time, liqueurs and spirits were produced in Noto, Sicily. At the beginning of the 20th century, Gaetano Inga produced Brandy and Marsala Wine in Sicily before moving to Piedmont around 1920 and then opening the first distillery. The family tradition is carried on today by the brothers Federico and Lorenzo Inga.
