The Blair Athol distillery is located in Pitlochry on the road from Perth to Inverness. It was founded in 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robertson under the name "Aldour". Today it belongs to Diageo.



Fettercairn is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. It was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, the owner of the estate on which the distillery is located. Read more about it below.↓



Glenturret is one of the oldest still producing distillery there is in Scotland. Its history traces back to some smugglers in 1775. Sometimes it is called the Disney of Whisky, as the visitor centre is so nice and well made.



The Royal Brackla distillery is located in the village of Cawdor. It was the first distillery to be allowed to carry the "Royal" in its name.



Glenglassaugh lies directly at the shores of the river Spey. Unfortunately the distillery was closed in 1986.



The Ardnamurchan Distillery is located on the peninsula of the same name in the village of Glenbeg in the Scottish Highlands.



The founding of Royal Lochnagar’s was a tumultuous affair. It was a pretty rough time in the Highlands. In 1823, James Robertson founded and constructed a distillery close to the modern-day site.
